Evidence note: A 2023 peer-reviewed review of human studies (Freeberg et al., Journals of Gerontology) found that oral NAD+ precursor supplements, such as nicotinamide riboside and nicotinamide mononucleotide, were safe, well tolerated and can raise NAD+ levels, but that the clinical evidence that raising NAD+ improves physiological function is unclear, and small study sizes limit what the results can show. The review looked at oral supplements, not IV NAD+. Talk with your doctor before trying either.
