What's Going On Inside of Me? — Eating Disorders, Trauma, and Recovery

A conversation with a behavioral health professional on eating disorders, trauma, and what works in treatment.

About the show

What’s Going On Inside of Me? is a behavioral health podcast that takes eating disorders and trauma seriously. The first episode is an interview with Ed Lacey, a behavioral health professional and consultant, about his education and early work, the history of eating disorder treatment, its current challenges, and why focusing on trauma and long-term evidence-based practices makes the difference.

The show includes discussion of substance use, mental health disorders, trauma, and related topics. Listener discretion is advised. For eating disorder support and treatment referrals, the National Alliance for Eating Disorders helpline (866-662-1235) is run by licensed therapists.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). For treatment referrals, call SAMHSA’s National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357. These are personal stories, not medical advice.
