Word Pond is a native iPhone and iPad app that helps kindergarten readers practice sight words through five short games. This page serves as the privacy policy and support page for the app.

Word Pond does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. The app has no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. It makes no network requests of any kind and works fully offline.
Everything the app creates — word lists, practice sentences, progress, stars, and stickers — is stored only on your device and never leaves it.
Word Pond is made for children and collects no personal information from anyone who uses it, including children. There is no advertising, no tracking, no analytics, and no third-party content. Settings that are meant for adults — adding or removing words, importing a list, resetting progress, and sharing — sit behind a parental gate that requires a two-second press and a simple arithmetic question.
A grown-up can add a picture to a word, or photograph a printed word list so the app can read the words from it. Pictures chosen from your photo library are selected through Apple’s photo picker, which means the app never receives access to your photo library itself — only the single image you pick. The camera is used only at the moment a grown-up taps to take a photo.
Any picture you add is saved only inside the app on your device, and is deleted when you remove that word. Photos are never uploaded, shared, or used for any other purpose.
When you photograph a word list, the text is recognized entirely on your device using Apple’s built-in text recognition. The photograph is never sent anywhere.
Word Pond ships with a hand-written practice sentence for every word it includes. When you add a word of your own and leave the sentence blank, the app can write one for you using Apple’s on-device language model on supported iPhones and iPads. This runs entirely on your device and sends nothing to a server. You can read and rewrite every sentence in the Grown-ups area, and you can switch the feature off there at any time.
The Grown-ups area lets you share a word list as plain text using the standard iOS share sheet. Sharing only ever happens when a grown-up chooses it, and the app has no other way to send anything off the device.
Word Pond is free to use, including the built-in word lists and all five games. An optional subscription, Unlimited Lists, lets a grown-up create more than two word lists of their own. It costs $9.99 per month and renews automatically until cancelled.
The subscription is sold and processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Word Pond never receives or stores your payment details, and we are not told who subscribed — the app only asks your device whether a subscription is currently active. You can manage or cancel it at any time in Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
Because no data is collected, there is nothing on our side to access, correct, export, or delete. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. If you have any questions about your privacy, please contact us using the details below.
