You’re lucky you are alive, Bill gets told. But I have a game in 2 days? There’s no medicine strong enough for the pain. The pain in my body, but more in my heart. The painkiller prescriptions of Oxycontin, Xanax, and other scheduled medicines come to an end. They get me off them cold turkey. The beginning of an addiction hunger to quiet the pain in my mind and heart is bigger than anything that can be prescribed. But if I get them from a doctor, that’s ok, right?
